Marunga Tours was founded by a small team of Tanzanian guides who grew up between the savannah and the sea. We started by showing friends our home — today we welcome travellers from every continent the same way.

Every Marunga itinerary starts with a conversation. We listen to the trip you imagine — a quiet honeymoon on a dhow, snorkeling Mnemba's reefs, a teenager who's never seen a giant tortoise — and then we build it around you.
Our guides are full-time team members, not contractors. They train year-round in marine safety, island history, first-aid and Swahili storytelling so that every boat trip, every spice tour and every sunset dhow cruise becomes a memory you'll keep for life.
We work directly with family-run guest houses, women-led cooperatives and local chefs. When you travel with Marunga, your trip lifts the communities you visit.
